Falling leaves and cooler weather are just around the
corner! This month, the Courier and Silvercreek
welcome football fans, fresh seafood and a newly

Are you ready for some football?
Football season is here and we are ready for the
busy weekends it brings. For several groups of family
and friends, lunch at the Courier is a tradition before
the game. If the Illini have an early kickoff, dinner at
Silvercreek is always a popular option. Home games
always bring new faces along with familiar one's who
have been coming for years.
Whether you are new to the area or not, we invite
you to make us a part of your football tradition. The
Courier Cafe is open from 7 am to midnight on
Saturday and 7 am to 11 pm on Sunday. Silvercreek
is open from 11 am to 11 pm on Saturday and from
10 am to 10 pm on Sunday. Silvercreek's famous
brunch is served from 10 am to 2:30 pm every
Sunday. Reservations are recommended at
Silvercreek. Please call us at 328-3402 for specials
and reservations.

Feature Antique: The "Fan-O-Plane"
The "Fan-O-Plane" that hangs above the front entry
at the Courier Cafe has been blowing good winds
upon guest arriving to dine for the last 25 years.
Built in the early 30's when the public shared a
fascination for all things aeronautical, they are quite
rare. This one was found at a flea market, in pieces,
by the owner, Allen Strong. He recognized what it
was because he had seen one at an old drug store in
Chicago.
Some parts were missing, others were broken and so
a fairly lengthy restoration was performed to bring it
back to life. Allen is always happy to talk about it,
so if you are interested just ask him for more
information.

Catch of the Day
Every day, seafood is flown in so that we can serve
only fresh seafood on our menu. This is one of the
many reasons that Silvercreek's menus change
frequently. As you can see from the picture, Chef
Christian is always working hard to prepare our fresh
fish daily.

New beer and wine additions
Silvercreek is known for having one of the widest
selections of wine around town. We have also put a
lot of work into the newly expanded beer list. The
selections range from microbrews from around the
country, to German style brews and Belgium ales.
Over 20 of our beers are on the top 100 beer list in
the world, according to www.beeradvocate.com. No
matter what your preference, you can find a beer to
suit your taste.
The Courier cafe also serves beer and wine after 5
pm. Ask your server the next time you're in.
